The popular weekly tribute from CMG Rescue Services has had to stop due to noise complaints from residents.

Every Thursday at 8pm, the people of Newport Pagnell gather outside their homes to applaud the NHS workers while fleets of CMG lorries and vans drive through the streets sounding their horns and flashing their lights.

Over the past few weeks, the noisy tribute has proved popular amongst locals, with people often sharing videos of the 'thank you parade' on social media.

However, due to noise complaints, CMG has decided that this parade can no longer continue.

Mark Cowan, CMG Spokesperson, said: "To all Newportonians, it is with regret that I have to advise you all that due to various complaints which CMG have received over the last two weeks, the management team have taken the decision to stop the parade of trucks around the town of Newport Pagnell.

He continued: "This, as you all know, has been happening every Thursday at 8pm for the last four weeks. We never expected it to grow as big as it has and have the following it has received.

"I hope you will all remember these good times and hope we will all go back to some kind of normality very soon, On behalf of the CMG management, stay safe."

Since the announcement, people have taken to social media to share their upset and frustration. One person said: "Very, very sad to see that your way of marking the huge efforts of our NHS staff is being undermined by a few people when it is such an uplifting moment to so many of us.

"I am really disappointed to see this, as others have said, particularly as Thursday is Captain Tom's birthday.... Made even worse by the fact that a number of local NHS/health workers have appreciated what you do and now to stop."
