A Milton Keynes primary school which is currently closed have confirmed that they have had no positive coronavirus tests from students or teachers so far.
MKFM reported earlier that The Premier Academy in Bletchley closed on Friday last week.
Following a text to parents on Friday morning stating that the school had "already sent 9 children and 3 staff home due to symptoms of COVID-19", it was originally thought that this was the reason for the closure.
However, Warren Harrison, CEO at The Premier Academy, has since told MKFM: "It is not correct that The Premier Academy has closed because of some teachers and students displaying symptoms of coronavirus and we currently have no staff and pupils with confirmed cases."
"We closed on Friday as a precaution after a pupil had a high temperature and vomited in the vicinity of some other staff and children."
"We subsequently found out that he had been feeling unwell the previous day and had a sibling in school who had been in contact with a separate cohort of children so, as a precaution, we decided to close entirely in order to carry out a deep clean."
"Fortunately, we were on half-term last week so we had only a small number of children attending."
"The staff in question have now been tested and we expect the results tomorrow."
"We will be re-opening on Wednesday for specific children in agreement with their parents."
"We have asked the parent of the sick child to have him tested and we are awaiting that result."
"Since lockdown began we have remained open to 65 children. We have been open from 7.30 am – 6.00 pm throughout; including all the holidays and Bank Holidays"
