Christian Horner will remain as CEO and Team Principal of Red Bull Racing, with an internal investigation into his behaviour towards a female employee concluded.

Horner, 50, had become the centre of attention in the world of Formula One over the past few weeks after allegations of inappropriate behaviour towards a female employee saw Red Bull GmbH, the parent company of Milton Keynes-based Red Bull Racing, launch an internal investigation into the matter.

Hiring an independent barrister, evidence was provided by both sides, with Horner, who is the longest tenured team principal in Formula One, having taken charge in the team's first year in 2005, denying the allegations.

The situation drew comments from other team principals in F1, notably Toto Wolff of Mercedes and Zak Brown of McLaren, as well as Red Bull's upcoming engine partners Ford, with a perceived lack of transparency over the matter and a desire for a swift resolution.

However, on Wednesday (28th February), Red Bull announced that the investigation had cleared Horner and he would remain in his role with the team, who are set to contest the opening race of the season at the Bahrain Grand Prix this weekend.

The Red Bull company statement reads: "The independent investigation into the allegations made against Mr Horner is complete, and Red Bull can confirm that the grievance has been dismissed."

"The complainant has a right of appeal. Red Bull is confident that the investigation has been fair, rigorous and impartial."

It concluded: "The investigation report is confidential and contains the private information of the parties and third parties who assisted in the investigation, and therefore we will not be commenting further out of respect for all concerned. Red Bull will continue striving to meet the highest workplace standards."
