Charity urges Milton Keynes people to take a leap of faith

Muscular Dystrophy UK is appealing for local daredevils to take part in a charity indoor skydive to raise money for people with muscle-wasting conditions.

The event series, called Make Today Count, is taking place on 4 March, at Manchester, Basingstoke and Milton Keynes Indoor Skydiving Centre. People in Milton Keynes can sign up for this date for just £19.

This year, we hope to raise over £4000 for the 70,000 people affected by muscle-wasting conditions in the UK.

Every year, brave individuals are making their day count by skydiving without a plane – or parachute! – all in the name of fundraising for a good cause. Indoor skydiving involves freefalling in a vertical wind tunnel.

Thanks to them, we are able to continue our life-changing work. Funding vital research to fight devastating muscle-wasting conditions such as Duchenne muscular dystrophy.

Money raised from the event will go towards the charity’s Duchenne Research Breakthrough Fund, helping scientists find treatments for the condition that affects 2,500 people in the UK.

If anyone fancies a New Year adventure, there’s still time to sign up to one of our 2017 indoor skydiving events.

It’s a great family day out – it’s open to anyone four years old or over.  If you’re under 18, you’ll need parental consent.
