Care home residents in Milton Keynes enjoy free Father's Day meal

Care home residents in Milton Keynes had the chance to celebrate Father's Day with a free meal at a local pub.

Popular Pub & Grill, the Caldecotte, hosted the special event on Wednesday 14 June. The lunch outing saw a number of residents from The Lindens Care Home attend with their families and carers, where they were provided with a complimentary two-course meal and drinks.

Many of The Lindens Care Home residents are living with dementia, so opportunities like this help to spread some extra cheer around a time that can sometimes be difficult for the families of those affected.

Maria Bispham, Activities Coordinator at The Lindens Care Home, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Greene King for their generosity and support in making this Father’s Day special for our residents and their loved ones. Strong community bonds like this are key to enriching the lives of care home residents.

"The smiles and laughter shared were truly heartwarming, an uplifting transition from visiting loved ones through a window, during the challenging times of Covid.”

Jon Ballard, General Manager at the Caldecotte, added: “We always welcome any opportunity to give back to the local community, and we know how special this meal would have been for the residents at The Lindens Care Home. We’re delighted that we were able to support these families this Father’s Day, especially at a time where rising costs are still affecting many."
