Can you help Cats Protection’s Milton Keynes & District Branch raise cash for the kitty?

Cats Protection’s Milton Keynes Branch needs to recruit fundraising volunteers to enable it to raise money and help even more cats and kittens.

The branch, which is run entirely by volunteers, needs someone who can spare a few hours a month to help with its fundraising activities. No previous fundraising experience is necessary as the charity can provide assistance and support materials.

Cats Protection is the UK’s leading cat charity and the Milton Keynes Branch is part of a nationwide network of around 20 volunteer-run branches and 37 centres that together help around 200,000 cats and kittens each year.

As well as finding new homes for unwanted and abandoned cats, the charity also offers cat care advice to the public and can help towards the cost of neutering.

Belle O’Connor said: “The branch does a huge amount of work to help local cats but we really need volunteers to help raise money to enable us to carry on our work. The role is a varied one and includes organising raffles, attending fetes and fairs and getting support from local businesses.

“They don’t have to be a fundraising expert, as the charity can provide assistance and support materials, but we do need people who care about cats and have bags of enthusiasm. The role is a voluntary one and by sparing just a couple of hours a week it can make a huge difference to needy cats. We are sure whoever takes on the role will find it incredibly rewarding. It’s also a great way to make new friends – both human and feline!”
