The Parks Trust has today announced a change of operator for the Willen Lake Bar & Kitchen located at our Watersports Centre at Willen Lake.
A popular cafe and restaurant at a busy Milton Keynes lake is set to close for refurbishment following the announcement of new operators taking over.
Benugo has been operating the facility since it opened in 2021, as part of the development plans for the watersports centre.
The Parks Trust has now announced that Benugo will be leaving the site on 19th March 2023, due to 'changing circumstances'.
A spokesperson from Benugo says, “We’ve really enjoyed our time at Willen Lake, but the time has come to focus on other areas of our business. We thank The Parks Trust and the people of Milton Keynes for their support.”
The Parks Trust has announced that the new operators will be Change Please, an award-winning social enterprise supporting homeless people back in to work which currently has cafes across London.
100% of Change Please profits goes into giving people experiencing homelessness, a living wage job, housing, training, onwards opportunities, the company says.

“This site will be important in continuing our mission and spreading the word. We cannot wait to serve our great-tasting coffee with everyone, whilst doing good for those in our community who need the support.”
Willen Lake Bar and Kitchen will be closed between 19 - 28 March 2023 for refurbishment and will re-open to the public on Wednesday 29 March.
"We look forward to welcoming Change Please to the site and details of the new menu on offer will be released shortly," The Parks Trust said.
