Wolverton Power Cut: Over 150 homes left without power in part of Milton Keynes as storm hits

Over 250 homes have been left without power in Milton Keynes as stormy weather begins to hit the city.

Two separate power cuts are affecting homes in Wolverton and Bradwell this evening.

95 properties in the MK12 postcode in Wolverton are expected to be without power until 10pm tonight.

Meanwhile, 167 properties in the MK13 postcode in Bradwell will have no electricity until 12.30am tomorrow morning.

Both incidents have been described as 'Low Voltage' incidents, which Western Power Distribution say tend to be smaller, more localised and "could be why some of your neighbours still have power".

Stormy weather is currently affecting Milton Keynes with a yellow weather warning being put into force by the Met Office.

Many people across the city have reported heavy rain and thunder over the past hour.

In a statement, the Met Office have said: "Although many places will miss them, some thunderstorms are likely to develop during Tuesday afternoon and evening, bringing torrential rain, frequent lightning, large hail and gusty winds."

"These thunderstorms could produce 30-60 mm of rain within 1-2 hours."
