Ammunition 'believed to be from World War 2' found in Milton Keynes with army at the scene

The Army's Explosive Ordnance Disposal team and officers from Thames Valley Police were dealing with ammunition found in Milton Keynes earlier.

Police were called to Chartwell Road in Newport Pagnell at 1.45pm today, after reports that ammunition had been found at a property.

The ammunition, believed to be from World War Two, was made safe by the Explosive Ordnance Disposal team.

A controlled explosion was made in a field near Chartwell Road.

Some residents had to be evacuated from their homes and they are being supported.

Thames Valley Police say they would like to thank everyone for their patience while the ammunition was made safe by our colleagues from EOD.
