Boots stores in Milton Keynes recall own-brand multivitamins after being incorrectly packed causing possible 'health risk'

Boots has recalled packs of its own-brand multivitamins because they have been incorrectly packed causing a 'possible health risk'.

Boots Multivitamins sold between 12th and 19th January 2021 were mistakenly packed with multivitamins containing iron.

These packs are supposed to have vitamin K but this vitamin has been wrongly replaced with iron so it is not mentioned on the label.

A spokesperson for the Food & Standards Agency (FSA) says: "This means the product is a possible health risk to individuals who may also be consuming iron supplements in addition to these multivitamins."

Excess supplemental iron can result in gastrointestinal effects such as pain, discomfort, constipation or nausea and vomiting.

Therefore, anyone who has purchased 'Boots Multivitamins' supplements between 12th and 19th January should stop taking them and return them to the closest boots store for a full refund.

The batch numbers 1805 & 1806 (180 tablets) with the best before date 11/2022 have been affected.
