Bletchley Milton Keynes Lions Club and West Bletchley Council have purchased 6 Bleed Control Kits. The kits help to provide necessary first aid to reduce blood loss until professional medical help arrives.

The kits can also be used for victims of car accidents, or any kind of trauma injury where there is risk of blood loss.

The average time for ambulance crew to arrive at the scene of an accident is seven minutes, however, the catastrophic bleeding from a trauma injury can prove fatal in three to five minutes.

Bletchley Milton Keynes Lions Club and West Bletchley Council are distributing these bleed kits around the Bletchley area to Public Houses and Late-Night venues.

The kits contain pressure bandages, tourniquets, a chest seal dressing and other medical equipment which are designed to prevent stab-related death.

Bletchley Lions Club say that they are still looking for locations to install some Bleed Kits, contact them on 0345 8339592 or secretary@bmkl.club.
