Bletchley man sentenced following burglary

A man has been sentenced to a total of four years’ imprisonment for a burglary which took place in Bletchley.

Dinesh Bhudia, aged 31, of Dunvegan Close, Bletchley, was sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on Friday (11/11) after he was found guilty of one count of burglary dwelling.

On 19 May, at about 4.23am, Bhudia entered the home of a woman, aged 69, who had given him the keys to her property in order to complete building work during the day.

The victim woke to find Bhudia in her room, and he was seen taking her handbag.

Bhudia was arrested shortly after the victim came to police.  He was charged with the offence on 23 July.

Investigating officer PC Steve King, of Milton Keynes Local CID, said: “This offence was committed at the home address of a vulnerable female who wanted some work done in her garden. Bhudia was hired by the victim and had been given keys in order to do this building work. He abused her trust and used these keys in order to steal from her.”

“Hopefully his conviction can give some peace of mind to his victim.

“This result demonstrates that those who take advantage of vulnerable people and burgle their homes will receive significant custodial sentences.”
