Firefighters tackled a large fire at an industrial unit in Woburn Sands overnight.
The blaze was in a single-storey detached commercial building on the Cranfield Road, which contained five individual units. The damage was significant - around 90 per cent damaged by fire, and 100 per cent affected by smoke.
Residents reported their properties shaking and a 'massive explosion.'
At the height of the fire a total of eight crews and three officers were in attendance; from Broughton, West Ashland, Newport Pagnell, Buckingham, Aylesbury and High Wycombe.
Further support came from water carriers in Kempston and Princes Risborough and a turntable ladder from West Ashland.
An acetylene cylinder was located within one of the units which firefighters monitored and cooled.
Police also attended the incident to help manage a scene cordon and help to close four roads to enable firefighters to establish a water shuttle.
Those roads have now been reopened, but firefighters are expected to remain on at the site to monitor the scene and damp down any hot spots.
