Milton Keynes bin collections cancelled on day of Queen's funeral

Milton Keynes City Council have confirmed with MKFM that bin collections will not be taking place on Monday 19th September.

Bin collections in Milton Keynes will not be taking place on the day of Queen Elizabeth II's funeral on Monday 19th September as a 'mark of respect' and to limit noise and disturbance outside homes during the funeral.

As a result, all collections next week will take place a day behind.

Monday 19th collections will take place on Tuesday 20th
Tuesday 20th collections will take place on Wednesday 21st
Wednesday 21st collections will take place on Thursday 22nd
Thursday 22nd collections will take place on Friday 23rd
Friday 23rd collections will take place on Saturday 24th

The council state that normal collections will resume from Monday 26th September.

Milton Keynes tips are also set to remain closed until 2pm on the day, residents with bookings before this time will reportedly be contacted and asked to rebook.
