Bike back better with Cycle September

With just less than 3 weeks to go, Cycle September is back with more prizes and the chance to compete against other workplaces.

And this year, with more people taking advantage of the vast green spaces the city has, there’s never been a better way to explore MK and reap the benefits of exercise.

Anyone can join in, and you and your workplace team can even clock up miles whether you’re cycling for leisure or as a commute. You will compete to clock up the most points competing against similar sized organisations from all over the world and in your specific industry.

Every bike ride earns you points and the team with the most points will win some great team prizes. Points are given for riding, encouraging others to ride and for new riders.

You can support and encourage your team mates on the Love to Ride website, see how your team is doing on the global leader board and share your photos and tips!

Cycle September is open to everyone who lives or works in MK whether you’re a keen cyclist or haven’t ridden a bike in years. You only need to cycle for a minimum of 10 minutes to be entered into the prize draw to win some great prizes including:

    • £500 local bike shop voucher
    • Cycling gear
    • £100 restaurant vouchers

It’s free to take part; all you need to do is register at: https://www.lovetoride.net/miltonkeynes?locale=en-GB then get on your bike and get cycling to clock up the points! If you register before September, you could be in with a chance to win a Cannondale bike worth £3,400.

Get Cycling and explore our cultural routes and log your rides in September. If you can’t cycle and would like to learn to ride, or if you would like to increase your confidence on a bike MK Council offers a wide range of professional cycle training courses. Find out more at www.getsmartertravelmk.org/cycling/skills-training  or email cycling@milton-keynes.gov.uk.

Remember to share your Cycle September team successes with us on social media using #GetCyclingMK.

Cycle September aims to get as many people as possible cycling and encourage cycling as the main transport choice on a global scale. Cycling is a great way to keep active, reduce congestion on the roads and helps to reduce stress.
