Arts for Health Milton Keynes looking for new Trustee to join the charity

Arts for Health Milton Keynes is looking for a new Trustee with experience as a professional artist, to join their charity.

Based at Milton Keynes University Hospital (MKUH), Arts for Health curate and care for the Hospital art collection (450 plus contemporary artworks), organise an annual programme of temporary exhibitions, events for staff, and manage the Creative Courtyards.

They deliver inclusive arts activities, events and exhibitions in health care and community settings serving the people of Milton Keynes and beyond, mainly but not limited to visual art.

Their activities are designed to improve the health outcomes for people facing various challenges, including those with dementia and young people going through a difficult time.

Giving more details about the role and the type of applicant they are looking for, a spokesperson for the charity said: "As Artist Trustee, your particular contribution will be a thorough working knowledge of contemporary visual arts practice and UK contemporary arts, in order to support and guide us in the care, curation and development of the MKUH Art Collection, and our related displays, projects and programmes.

"Ideally you’ll also be able to demonstrate an interest in arts for health in general, and in Milton Keynes and its cultural and wellbeing communities.

"You should also be willing and able to contribute to the successful running and oversight of our charity, and be happy to advocate and help deliver our vision and values.

"This is a voluntary, unpaid role. We warmly welcome applications from those who are new to trustee/board work as well as people with previous experience in governance roles."
