Friends of a couple from Stony Stratford who do so much to benefit the community have launched a GoFund me campaign after they were the victims of a burglary this week.
Matt Finch runs the local football team Football for Communities, which raises money for local charities including the Food Bank and Mind, with support from his wife, Katie.
On Tuesday evening, the couple - who live with Matt's elderly parents - returned home to find their property had been ransacked. Thieves stole items including football memorabilia, clothing and shoes, and sentimental items including photographs of loved ones, and jewellery, which cannot be replaced.
"It is devastating to be broken into at any time, but so close to Christmas is even worse," said their friend Lora Finch, "We would love to be able to give something back to a couple who have supported so many others. They faced the devastating task of telling their son that someone had trampled through their home and took their belongings without cause or care.
"We know times are hard for everyone, especially as we get closer to the festive season, but if you are able to donate any amount we would be immensely grateful. Matt and Katie are selfless, kind and have given so much time and effort to helping those in need over the years and we really want to give back to them in their time of need."
