Anyone aged 18 or over in Milton Keynes can now book a COVID-19 vaccination

In the latest step in the national vaccination programme, all adults in England can now book a COVID-19 vaccine appointment.

Everyone aged 18 and over is being urged to arrange a jab if they have not had one as the NHS COVID-19 vaccination programme, the biggest in health service history, begins the final push to protect the country.

The latest figures show that NHS in England has now delivered over 60 million vaccinations in just over six months. Around 80% of adults have now had their first dose, while more than half have had their second, meaning they have maximum protection from COVID-19.

A number of vaccinations centres across Milton Keynes are also offering walk in vaccinations, meaning locals can turn up to receive a jab without the need for an appointment - making it even easier to get protected against COVID-19.

Dr Sarah Whiteman, Chair of Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Clinical Commissioning Group, said: "We’ve given nearly 700,000 doses of vaccine across the area so far and we’re keen to make sure that no one gets left behind.

"We’re opening the doors at our large vaccine centres for walk-ins for a limited time, so you can just turn up and get your jab. If you haven’t got around to booking your vaccine appointment yet, this is the perfect opportunity to start to get protected."

Those attending any walk in sessions should ideally bring their NHS number with them.
