All Covid-19 tests continue negative at Matchroom.Live Championship League

    A total of 78 tests for COVID-19 have now been conducted at Matchroom.Live Championship League at Marshall Arena, Stadium MK, with all those tested so far having tested negative.

    Staff were throat and nasal swab tested on arrival at the event while players arrive for testing 24 hours before they are scheduled to play. Players who have already won groups will return to be re-tested the day before their Winners’ Phase Group Matches next week. All those tested remain in isolation until the results are confirmed the following day.

    Matchroom.Live Championship League continues at 4.10pm today, live on ITV4, with Ronnie O’Sullivan in action on table one.

    The event is taking place behind closed doors at Marshall Arena, Milton Keynes with strict rules on social distancing, COVID testing and hygiene in place, in line with government guidelines.

    So far this week World Champion Judd Trump has already advanced to the next phase, where he’ll meet David Gilbert, Ryan Day and the winner of Group 7. Gary Wilson, Luca Brecel and Mark Joyce are through to Group A where the winner of Group 16 will join them. Harvey Chandler and Liang Wenbo have also won their first stage groups and will return for their next action on Tuesday.
