At around 10am earlier this morning (31/05), two cars crashed near Luton Airport causing delays to local traffic.
Two lanes on the M1 Northbound between Junction 10 (Luton Airport Spur Road) and Junction 11 (Dunstable South) are temporarily closed due to the road traffic collision.
Lane closure signals are in place to mark that lanes 3 and 4 have been temporarily made unavailable.
Emergency services and traffic officers are reported to be on the scene and assisting the recovery process.
There is just under 4 miles of slow-moving traffic on approach.
It is estimated that this incident has caused delays of around 30 minutes above the normal journey time for the day.
Local drivers are advised to take caution and allow for extra time when making a journey in the area.
12:15pm UPDATE: All lanes have reopened and traffic is reporting to be gradually returning to normal.
