98% of over 40s in Milton Keynes have had their COVID-19 vaccine

The latest figures show that 98% of local people over 40-years-old have had at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

When looking at the Government figures, it means that 142,720 people in total now have protection against the virus - 79,607 of those are fully vaccinated.

16,458 locals were vaccinated in the last week alone, and now even more people are eligible as over 30s are being called forward to have the jab.

The Government's booking site will show the next available appointment, whether it be at Saxon Court or one of the many GP and pharmacy-led clinics across Milton Keynes.

If residents cannot spot a local vaccine appointment, then they are being advised to check back regularly as appointments are being added every day.

Those aged 50 and over, and the clinically vulnerable, are having their second doses brought forward because of the Indian variant, on advice from the Joint Committee on Vaccination and Immunisation (JCVI).
