79 more people tested positive for COVID-19 in Milton Keynes today

    79 more people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Milton Keynes today, according to the latest data.

    The latest figures take the total number of cases to 21,292 since the start of the pandemic. 

    379 local people have tested positive in the past seven days - a number that has been rising each day.

    The 7-day case rate in Milton Keynes now stands at 88.7 cases per 100,000 people, which is still below the national average of 157 cases per 100,000 people. 

    Nationally, there was an additional 26,068 people who tested positive yesterday.

    14 deaths were also recorded within 28 days of a positive test - none of these took place in Milton Keynes meaning the city's death toll remains at 463 since the start of the pandemic.  

    Five patients are being treated for COVID-19 at Milton Keynes Hospital (as of 22nd June), although none of these are on ventilators. 

    175,270 local people have had their first dose of the vaccine so far and 117,917 people are now fully vaccinated.
