24 Thames Valley Police officers assaulted in under three weeks over Christmas period

    It has been revealed that 24 police officers in the Thames Valley area, which includes Milton Keynes, were assaulted by members of the public between 22nd December and 2nd January.

    The figures have been revealed by the Thames Valley Police Federation, who said that they "wish those officers well and we will provide support and assistance to them as required."

    In a post on the Federation's Facebook page they added: "When has it become acceptable for Police Officers to be society's punch bags?"

    Thames Valley Police Federation, as part of the Police Federation of England and Wales, is the representative body of police officers below the rank of Superintendent.
