20MK Gym celebrate as six gymnasts medal at the British Championships.

    Milton Keynes Gymnastics have proved they’re one of the top tumbling teams in the country at the recent British Championships in Liverpool.

    An incredible six Milton Keynes Gymnasts secured top three places at the Tumbling British Championships held in Liverpool last weekend. 

    As the name suggests, The Tumbling British Championships brings together the top Tumblers from across Great Britain after a series of qualifying competitions.  Milton Keynes Gymnastics took 20 tumblers and 1 trampolinist to the prestigious competition.  Virtually all of these gymnasts qualified for the final on the Sunday which automatically places them in the top 8 in the country. 

    Sunday’s final displayed some very tough competition.  The MK team put in strong performances which resulted in the following gymnasts in the top three of the Country:

    Naana Oppon, 1st Place and British Champion!  11-12 age category, Womens.

    Brooke Bedford, 3rd place.  9-10 age category, Womens.

    Freddy Liggins, 3rd place.  9-10 age category.  Mens.

    Malakai Bojang, 3rd Place.  11-12 age category.  Mens.

    Jack Leahy, 2nd Place.  13-14 age category.  Mens. 

    Benjamin Goodall, 2nd Place.  17-21 age category.  Mens. 

    The tumbling team are coached by Head Coach Mikey French and Beth Davies who have both expressed how proud they are of each and every one of the MK competitors.   Mikey says ‘I couldn't be any prouder of what we have accomplished over the year and over the weekend. Just being at the British Championships with my incredible team is an experience I'll never forget!’

    Both coaches and tumblers alike are looking forward to the English Championships which are due to be held in a couple of weeks time.
