£1.3m funding to help boost adult numeracy skills In Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes has been awarded £1.3 million to support adult numeracy skills across the borough.

The funding from the Government's new UK-wide Multipy programme will equip hundreds of thousands of adults with functional numeracy skills to improve their employment prospects.

This funding could cover free tutoring, digital training and flexible courses to help adults with low-level maths skills get back into work, as well as measures to get more young people into high-skilled jobs.

Multiply will offer adults who do not already have a GCSE grade C/4 or higher in Maths or equivalent, and need to improve their numeracy, free flexible courses that fit around their lives.

Courses are expected to be available this autumn in person or online, at work or at home, and either on a part time or intensive basis. These courses will equip adults across the UK with the numeracy skills they need to fulfil their potential.
