The Drop Downs win Battle of the Bands round 3!

Join the audience and vote for your favourite band of the night at the next round of Battle of the Bands, this coming Friday on the 11th of March from 7:30PM at The Cricketers, Oldbrook.

Autumn Fires was the first band to take the stage and they certainly set the bar high with an energetic punchy performance. They were a change in the original line-up as Ali in The Jungle, unfortunately, had to pull out. Autumn Fires were a fantastic replacement in their own right, there is no doubt that these guys will progress in the music scene. Very musically talented and wonderful vocals from Charlotte.

The second band who performed in round three was Falaena, they gave the audience an absolutely dreamy and surreal feeling and an excellent guitar solo from Miguel Martinho, who recently met Chris Lipscombe (founder) at one of the Open Mic Nights at The Cricketers. This was Falaena's first gig with their new band member, what a gorgeous set it was. They will be headlining a mini-festival on the 19th of March at The Brewery Tap House MK, keep an eye out for more details on this.

The final band of the evening was from The Drop Downs. They gave a very solid and fun performance. The judges were both blown away by one of the original ballads that they performed on the night.  Both Jorge Vasques and Stuart Mack voted for The Drop Downs, but with the audience's votes, it concluded a tie with The Drop Downs and Autumn Fires. As much as Autumn Fires had certainly impressed everyone, The Drop Downs had an extra something in their performance. You could really see how much they enjoyed themselves on the stage and were thoroughly surprised when Suzanne revealed the results.

Now we have a new semi-finalist joining Bruises and the Adam Blunden Band. Sadly, Calico Palace has had to withdraw from the battle. But they will be replaced fairly after another discussion with the judges. With one more battle to go and 3 slots available... Anything can happen!

Congratulations to The Drop Downs. The next battle will take place on the 11th March with bands the Forbidden Romance, Garden, Jet Lagged Jeff and The Swamp Donkeys performing. One round winner, one wild card, and one surprise call-up to be decided. Very exciting.
