Milton Keynes lady launches new inclusive greetings cards range

While searching for a birthday card for her sister, Jacqueline Stephens was struggling to find one that fitted the bill: “I realised there was little to no representation of disabled people on greetings cards.” she told MKFM.

Remembering that day back in 2019, “It was like a lightbulb moment, and inspired me to create a brand that celebrates inclusivity and authentic representation by someone who lives it.”

Fast forward to 2025, and Jacqueline – who was born with Cerebral Palsy - has just realised her dream, with the launch of Jmarie Collective Ltd.

“My cards are for everyone. They’re designed to make sure that anyone, whether they have a disability themselves or know someone who does, can find a card that represents them,” and said the purpose of the business 'is to give back to the community.'

Jacqueline, who lives in Central Milton Keynes, has worked with two artists to deliver her charming card range.

“The design process is very considered, as authenticity is essential, and inspiration comes from everyday experiences, friends in the community, and sport.

“If I know someone with a specific disability that I want to represent then I will consult to make sure of the accuracy.  It can take several weeks to perfect but every detail matters to create genuine and respectful representation.

“In short, these cards belong everywhere, because everyone deserves to feel included.”

Looking at Jacqueline's extensive range, it seems such an obvious idea that it's difficult to understand why it has taken someone until now to deliver on. Why does she think it has taken so long?

“I think because, for a long time, disability representation just wasn’t on the radar,” she considers, “It was often overlooked or considered an afterthought. Now, with inclusivity finally at the forefront, the time is right.

“Plus, it’s challenging for someone without lived experience to authentically represent disability. It just took the right person and the right moment to carry that mantle, and I’m here to do exactly that, so the next generation sees these cards as a normal part of the card aisle.”
