The Communications Gallery is a firm favourite with all ages, and children especially love the hands-on exhibits.
Milton Keynes Museum has just reopened one of its most popular exhibits which had remained closed to the public since a fire badly damaged the space in early February.
While the Museum was able to re-open to visitors at Easter, the gallery was out of bounds as volunteers worked hard to repair the gallery space to the standard that visitors expect – and with dozens of old telephones on site, there was much wiring to be replaced, aside from general restoration work.
“We are thrilled to be able to get the telephone area back up and running,” said Surbhi Bhambri, Education & Outreach Officer at the Museum, “We know just how important the Communications Gallery is to everyone, and we are every bit as thrilled as our supporters that we've managed to reopen during the school holidays.
“Our volunteers have been tireless in their dedication to bring the space back from its charred, damaged state to the wonderfully fun, interactive space that people love.
“There are still a couple of small areas which need a little further work, but in general, it is business as usual, so come along and dial away!”
Milton Keynes Museum is also offering additional summer holiday activities on top of its usual attractions, and if you pay once, you can visit as often as you like for a whole year.
