TRAVEL: Stretch of M1 near Milton Keynes to close for resurfacing overnight following car fire

Following a car fire earlier today (7/9), a stretch of the M1 will be closed tonight.

The M1 southbound Junction 15 (Northampton) to Junction 14 (Newport Pagnell) will be closed as an emergency, overnight.

The stretch will close from around 21:00 until 05:00 for emergency resurfacing works.

The closure is due to tarmac damage on lane 1.

Traffic Officers, Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service and Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue attended the scene earlier today.

Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue said that at 13:29 a crew from Mereway was called to a Mercedes on fire in lane one of the motorway.
