Salary increases for Support Workers in Milton Keynes

MacIntyre couldn’t do what they do without their brilliant staff and so they have made the decision to increase their hourly rates.

Hourly rates will start from £9.50 for all Support Workers in MacIntyre's Adult Services teams with effect from 1 January and Senior Support Worker rates to start from £9.80.

Every year MacIntyre, a national charity providing support and care for over 1,200 people with learning disabilities and or autism in the UK, with over 200 people supported here in Milton Keynes, are reliant on funding authorities to provide fee increases in order that they can pass this benefit on to their teams. MacIntyre have made this decision in advance of the change to the National Minimum Wage to this hourly rate from April 2022 and anticipate that, from April, their funders will be preparing to recognise this increased cost for organisations like MacIntyre.

The charity continue to offer their staff specialist training, qualifications and career progression, often cited as a key reason why people join and stay with them.

This salary has been welcomed by existing Support Workers and will also help to attract brilliant new people to join the team.
