Which roads will be closed for the Milton Keynes Marathon this Bank holiday weekend?

    With the Milton Keynes Marathon happening this weekend in Milton Keynes, a number of roads will be closed.

    MKFM will be broadcasting LIVE updates from the Milton Keynes Marathon on Sunday 30th April and Monday 1st May with news and information for both runners and local residents.

    Drivers are encouraged to adjust travel time on race day.

    MK ROCKET 5K

    ROAD CLOSURES SUNDAY 30 APRIL 2023

    07:00 – 11:00 Avebury Boulevard between Columbia Place and Marlborough Gate
    09:45 – 10:30 Avebury Boulevard between Marlborough Gate and Secklow Gate
    10:00 – 10:45 Secklow Gate between Avebury Boulevard and Childs Way
    10:00 – 10:45 Marlborough Street between Portway (H5) and Chaffron Way (H7)
    10:00 – 11:00 Childs Way between South Saxon and Brickhill Street (V10)
    10:00 – 11:15 Frobisher Gate coned down the middle and marshaled one-way traffic in place
    10:00 – 11:15 Overgate controlled redway crossing point
    Roads will be re-opened as soon as the tail runner & medical pass.

    17:30 – 19:15 Northfield Drive (north end) closed at the junction with Tungwell Street
    17:30 – 19:15 Northfield Drive (south end) closed at the junction with Tungwell Street
    17:30 – 19:15 Controlled redway crossing point at Noon Layer Drive
    17:45 – 19:30 Traffic calming Milton Road junction with redway just south of St Mary Magdalene Church
    17:45 – 19:30 Controlled redway crossing point at Noon Layer Drive near Middleton Primary School
    17:45 – 19:45 Controlled redway crossing point at Frobisher Gate
    Roads will be re-opened as soon as the tail runner & medical have passed.

    10:45 – 16:45 Newport Road between Groveway (H9) and Standing Way (H8). Resident exit/access via Standing Way only
    10:45 – 16:45 Newport Road between Standing Way (H8) and The Green – a one-way northbound system will be in place and runners separated by cones
    10:45 – 16:45 Newport Road between The Green and Chaffron Way – a one-way northbound system will be in place with runners separated by cones
    11:00 – 17:00 Newport Road Woolstone between Marshalls Lane and Patterson Lane. North of Patterson Lane – a one-way northbound system will be in place
    10:00 – 11:15 Overgate controlled redway crossing point
    11:15 – 17:15 Overgate between Cricket Green roundabout and Park Street
    10:00 – 17:15 Parks Trust car park crossing point

    • Roads will be re-opened as soon as the tail runner & medical have passed on the 2nd lap.
    • Please drive at 5 mph with hazards on in a restricted area

    The MK Marathon Event Director Andy Hully said: “Unfortunately with an event of this size a certain amount of disruption is inevitable and we would like to apologise in advance for any inconvenience caused. All closures, which are necessary for the safety of all those involved, will be lifted as soon as possible.”
