Milton Keynes North MP Ben Everitt and Mohammed Khan, Mayor of Milton Keynes, visited the Foreign Office’s Hanslope Park site last week.
The pair went to meet with apprentices from FCDO Services, the UK government’s leading provider of secure services.
The Mayor of Milton Keynes and MP for Milton Keynes North got the chance to see some work being produced by apprentices to design and build unique products which protect the national security of the UK at home and abroad.
The visit also included a briefing by the UK National Technical Authority on Counter-Eavesdropping (UK NACE), including a demonstration of technical security measures.
FCDO Services is a government organisation, part of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, which provides services to UK and overseas government agencies.
Work includes construction, digital solutions, logistics, counter-eavesdropping, translation, and more, all delivered with the highest levels of security.
Ben Everitt, MP for Milton Keynes North, said: “It’s fantastic that Milton Keynes has such a wealth of technical and engineering expertise on its doorstep. I’m delighted that there are so many opportunities for young people here in the city, and seeing how they contribute to organisations like FCDO Services or UK NACE is so exciting.”
The MP and Mayor also got to meet some of the apprentices working towards their qualifications, and some who joined FCDO Services and UK NACE as apprentices and now run operations and departments.

Mohammed Khan, Mayor of Milton Keynes, said: “This is the second time I’ve met with the FCDO Services apprentices as Mayor and watching them at work creating specialist equipment which will one day end up in the UK’s embassies abroad was great to see. I wish them well on their journey and hope they have long and enjoyable careers at Hanslope Park and around the world.”

Our apprentices are at the beginning of their careers, but are already delivering vital products and services which keep the UK safe.”
