Willen Hospice, in partnership with Gamiel Yafai, author & award-winning diversity & inclusion strategist, invites the community to an open roundtable discussion event focused on "The Way We Talk About Dying Matters."
The event, which takes part in this year’s Dying Matters Awareness week, aims to foster open and honest conversations about death, dying, and grief. This year's theme emphasizes the importance of communication and language when discussing end-of-life care.
The event, which takes place on 8 May at Willen Hospice, is open to all and seeks to bring together a diverse group of people from various cultural and faith backgrounds to share their experiences and perspectives. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions, ask questions, and gain insights into how healthcare professionals and families can communicate more effectively during end-of-life situations.

The Hospice is honoured to welcome the High Sheriff of Buckinghamshire, Kurshida Mirza BEM, as a special guest for the roundtable event. Kurshida is known for her advocacy in promoting unity among diverse communities and will offer her unique and welcome perspective on creating an inclusive culture of open communication about death and dying. Kurshida will be joined on the panel by seven chaplains representing different faiths.
