Smoke seen across Milton Keynes and Bedfordshire as firefighters tackle blaze in Ampthill

    Firefighters are at the scene of a fire at a scrapyard just outside of Milton Keynes.

    UPDATE  8AM Tuesday- The fire at the scrap metal yard on the Station Road industrial estate in Ampthill was extinguished at 04:13 this morning.

    Ampthill Community Fire Station say that crews will be returning at 09:30 for a re-inspection of the site.

     

    7PM Monday - Fire crews are currently tackling a blaze at a site in the Ampthill area of Bedfordshire. 

    Emergency services are currently on the scene at a site off Station Road where Bedfordshire Fire Control have confirmed a blaze in a scrapyard.

    5 fire engines supported by 2 water carriers and an aerial platform are on the scene.

    Residents are being advised to keep their doors and windows closed.

    Smoke can currently be seen from across Milton Keynes and Bedfordshire.

    MKFM has also received reports of a separate fire at a field in nearby village Lidlington.
