25% rise in burglaries across Thames Valley in last six months

In response to this the Milton Keynes Neighbourhood policing team have released a video urging people to make sure their homes are protected, especially in the run up to Christmas.

Inspector Michael Morland said “Over recent months we have seen a rise in Burglaries here in Milton Keynes and nationally.  Burglaries have a huge impact on victims both emotionally and financially.   Everything possible is being done to bring the offenders responsible to justice”.

“What is really important is for us to do everything possible to  prevent burglaries from happening in the first place, please watch our watch our 80 second video as it will provide tips on how you can reduce your chances of being a victim”.

“This city has dedicated resources in place to disrupt and investigate burglaries. Officers on our Neighbourhood Policing Teams will continue to offer advice to residents and also disrupt burglars.

“I would like to ask the community to remain vigilant and report any suspicious behaviour by calling 101 or speaking to one of the neighbourhood policing teams”.
