MKFM Review: Mercure Hotel's Christmas Igloo

Jo from MKFM was invited down to the Mercure Hotel in Milton Keynes to experience a magical Christmas igloo dinner with her friends, here is her full review...

Arriving at the magical Mercure Hotel with my girlfriends, we instantly had the festive feel on arrival – it is a very modern and stylish venue.

Everything is so immaculate and perfect.

We were greeted by the lovely host Tracy, who took us to the bar for our pre-dinner Prosecco.

Sitting having a drink, we could see the outside Winter Igloos and the excitement had the better of us, so we made our way with our drinks through beautiful outdoor décor to our little igloos for the evening.

Staff had already organised blow heaters, so it was nice and toasty and for atmosphere, we used their outside speaker and played our favourite tunes.

To make us even cosier, we had the most beautiful, fleeced blankets to cover ourselves up too!

Starters arrived with the tastiest Garlic prawns, bruschetta & chicken skewers.

All of this was accompanied by a soft white bread, which was used to soak up the delicious garlic sauce from the prawns.

We really wanted to all choose different items for mains, but when you have steak on offer with your very own hot rock, it is impossible not to go for it. So, three steaks arrived and it was so exciting to cook to your own taste on the hot rock.

The steaks were perfectly seasoned and salted accompanied with veg, peppercorn sauce, chips, and the crunchiest onion rings.

Dessert was a perfect chocolate brownie, warm inside served with vanilla ice cream.

It is the perfect venue for a close intimate catch-up or celebration.

Mercure Hotel is open 7 days a week and you can book online here.
