What Milton Keynes residents can expect from tomorrow's Budget

As Chancellor Rishi Sunak prepares to deliver his Budget statement, what can residents in Milton Keynes expect to see?

Ahead of his statement tomorrow, he is expected to highlight key plans to restart the economy as lockdown measures begin to be lifted.

This will include a £5bn scheme to encourage high street spending and hospitality.

Another measure that will be introduced will be extending the 'furlough' scheme until at least 30th June, after which lockdown measures are expected to be fully lifted.

On Tax, he is expected to raise tax in some way despite the Tory party manifesto pledge to not to raise income tax, national insurance or VAT from the last General Election.

Finally, there is set to be an extension to the 'stamp duty' holiday to encourage house buyers and the 'Help to Buy' scheme.

Stay tuned to MKFM for all of the Budget Breakdown tomorrow.
