VIDEO: Water supply restored across Milton Keynes following burst main in Great Holm

A burst water main near Great Holm and Two Mile Ash caused a disruption to water supplies for over two hours earlier this evening, with areas including Bletchley and Bradville being affected.

It is believed that supply has now been restored to most areas, but some listeners are still reporting low water pressure in their area.

Many members of the public contacted us earlier to say their water supply had been unavailable, with some also reporting considerable delays in attempts to contact Anglian Water.

Anglian Water have said they are aware of the burst water main in the Great Holm area, and are reporting that local residents will see the 'possibility of low pressure or no water' until at least 3am tonight.

The water main is located to the side of the V3 Great Monks Street near Two Mile Ash, with water currently flowing into the Lodge Lake nearby.

Both Anglian Water and Bucks Fire and Rescue are on the scene.

In a statement on the company website, they say: "We're really sorry but some customers in Milton Keynes MK3, MK5, MK8, MK13 and MK14 areas may have very low water pressure or no water at all."

"We've got a burst main in your area that we're working hard to get fixed, so that we can get your supply back to normal as soon as possible."

"This should be by 3am tonight but we'll update this message if anything changes."

"When the water is back it may look a little cloudy or discoloured, just run your tap for a couple of minutes and it should clear."

Areas which reported no supply or a weak supply earlier include:

    • West Bletchley
    • Far Bletchley
    • Two Mile Ash
    • Whitehouse
    • Fishermead
    • Conniburrow

Local residents have told us supply has now been restored to the majority of these areas.

Many residents responded with anger after being given estimated wait times of over two hours on Anglian Water's official information telephone line.

Bradwell Common resident Sinead Weddell has told us: "[There is an] over 2hr 40min wait time [to get through to Anglian Water] and still after putting in a call back request we haven't received one."
