Warning to households as thieves are stealing packages from doorsteps in Milton Keynes estate

A warning has been issued to households as thieves are said to be stealing packages from doorsteps in Newton Leys, Bletchley.

Officers from Thames Valley Police will be paying "extra attention" to the new-build housing estate in an attempt to prevent parcel theft from taking place.

In the meantime, they have issued advice for people to safeguard their property. The advice is as follows:

    - Request with the delivery company to have your parcel left with a neighbour and to not be left on the doorstep.

    - Request with the delivery company for the parcel to be left in a safe place.

    - If you have a doorbell that allows audio and you are not home, ask the delivery driver to leave the parcel in a safe place.

    - Arrange for the parcel to be sent elsewhere. There are now click and collect locations available in the area.

Residents of Newton Leys have alleged that a particular offender is reportedly selling the stolen goods online. If anybody has information about this offender, or possible CCTV/doorbell footage, then they are advised to make a report to police on 101.
