Two Boots pharmacies in Milton Keynes set to close

Boots have confirmed that two of their pharmacies in Milton Keynes are set to close permanently, along with one store closure.

The chain currently has 8 Boots stores in Milton Keynes, including Opticians, a Medical Centre and Pharmacies.

Last month, Boots confirmed to MKFM that it will be closing its Brunel Centre store in Bletchley, including the pharmacy.

Boots have now confirmed that the store at Beacon Retail Park is also set to lose its pharmacy, despite the rest of the store staying open.

The closures are the result of 'difficult market conditions in the UK', 200 pharmacies are set to close nationwide.

Customers who regularly use one of these pharmacies for prescriptions will be able to transfer them to another pharmacy of their choice.

A Boots UK spokesperson told MKFM in February: “At Boots, we aim to serve our patients however and wherever they need us, both in stores and online. We continually review our store and pharmacy network to ensure that we balance our commitment to offer provision where it is most needed with our need to adapt to a changing market environment.

“Following a recent review, we can confirm that our store in Bletchley Brunel Centre will close in April 2022. Our nearby store at Kingston, Milton Keynes will continue to offer pharmacy and retail services to our customers.”
