Thieves are said to have stolen every last bit of equipment from the Milton Keynes BMX Club on Friday evening (2/10).

The Milton Keynes BMX Club, based at the purpose-built track at Willen Lake, prides itself in being one of the countries most established BMX clubs having been operating since 1984.

Throughout the years, thousands of riders from ages 3 to 70+ have been using the club with it currently having over 350 members and over 120 active racers.

And with this large number of track users comes a large amount of needed equipment which is valued at thousands of pounds.

It is all usually stored in a container on site but the Chairman of the MK BMX Committee, Karis Pattinson, announced on social media yesterday (4/10) that absolutely everything, even down to the brooms and paintbrushes, had been stolen.

She shared the news "after much consideration with a sad and heavy heart" stating that four BMX bikes, 15 helmets, an air compressor, two generators, a printer, and much more had been taken.

Karis says the club is devastated, adding: "It breaks our hearts that someone thinks it's OK to steal from us. They are clueless to the disruption they are causing to our club. Clueless that we are all volunteers who work really hard and that it's taken us years to get some of our equipment. Clueless that from now on we will have to operate completely differently.

"Well it's not OK so please let's all keep an eye out on selling sites and social media."

The MK BMX Committee has since asked people to keep an eye out for any of the equipment being put up for sale on social media. Police are also aware.

A spokesperson for Thames Valley Police said: "Thames Valley Police received a report of a burglary that took place on Friday (2/10).

"Offenders gained entry to a container and stole bike related items from inside.

"An investigation is ongoing. No arrests have been made.

"If anyone has any information, you can contact police by calling 101 or making a report online. Please quote reference 43200311837."

Karis concluded: "What I can tell you is that although it will take time we will get back on our feet again and we will carry on bmxing because MK BMX Club totally rocks."
