The Brasserie at Milton Keynes College is officially the best college restaurant in Britain

The award comes from the AA (Automobile Association) and People1st and was presented at a glittering ceremony hosted by BBC Strictly Come Dancing presenter, Claudia Winkleman, at London’s famous Grosvenor House Hotel.

Hospitality and Catering students at all levels gain valuable experience of the industry at the Brasserie which is on the Bletchley campus.  Because it’s open to the public it gives them a taste of the discipline and quality needed to satisfy paying customers in the real world.  It’s the third year running that the Brasserie has made it to the final three in this national competition, finally winning through after two runners-up placings.

Head of (Hairdressing, Beauty Therapy, Catering, Hospitality and Events) at the College, Maria Bowness, says, “After coming so close in the two previous years we are all thrilled to have won this prestigious award.  It’s a reflection of the incredible hard work, dedication and creativity of the students and staff who make the Brasserie the wonderful restaurant that it is.  Our continued success in the event shows the consistent high standards of all concerned.”

The Brasserie already boasts an AA College Rosette, (Highly Commended) for the quality of the food and service it offers.  Maria says, “The culinary experience that our customers encounter at The Brasserie is like none other. The food is served and prepared with the amazing skills, passion and enthusiasm of our students under the watchful eyes of our Brasserie team. The award endorses the high quality experience that all customers encounter and we couldn't be more proud.”
