Ten coronavirus cases recorded in Milton Keynes yesterday as infection rate stays well below national average

    There were ten coronavirus cases recorded in Milton Keynes yesterday (11/5), and the infection rate has stayed well below the national average.

    This is all according to the latest Government data, which revealed that there have been 20,196 positive cases in Milton Keynes since the start of the pandemic.

    60 local people have tested positive for the virus in the last seven days, and the infection rate (or case rate) has stayed low.

    However, the infection rate in Milton Keynes had slightly increased from 15.6 cases per 100,000 people on Monday (10/5) to 16.3 cases per 100,000 people on Tuesday (11/5).

    But this is still far lower than the national average, which sits at 21.3 cases per 100,000 people.

    Nationally, there was an additional 2,474 people tested positive today, with 20 deaths within 28 days of a positive test.

    None of these deaths took place in Milton Keynes, meaning the city's total COVID-linked death toll still stands at 463 since the start of the pandemic.

    Meanwhile, 35,587,348 people have now had a first dose of the vaccine and 18,088,385 have been given a second dose across the country.
