Temporary 'dispersal order' authorised for Milton Keynes estate following repeat anti-social behaviour

A temporary order has been authorised meaning that police can ask people to leave the Lakes Estate on the grounds of preventing anti-social behaviour.

This was introduced at 23:00 last night (16/6) and will remain in place for the entire Lakes Estate up until 23:00 tomorrow (18/6).

The order, which police say is a 'Section 34 Dispersal Notice', follows multiple reports of repeat anti-social behaviour in the area.

Police officers and PCSO's will be able to direct individuals or groups that have committed, or are likely to commit, anti-social behaviour to leave the area and not return for a period of time.

It can be implemented on a case by case basis, so long as the officer is "satisfied on reasonable grounds" that the people in question could contribute to this behaviour, crime or disorder in the area.

The affected area starts at Water Eaton Road, A4146, Stoke Road and ends at the West Coast Rail Line.
