Monday's Coronavirus Update: 69 cases recorded in Milton Keynes

    There were 69 positive coronavirus cases recorded in Milton Keynes on Monday according to data from Public Health England.

    This is an increase compared to Friday's number of 39 and takes the total number of positive cases to 3,412 since the pandemic began.

    Nationally, 15,450 cases were recorded today and a further 206 deaths.

    There were no recorded deaths from coronavirus in Milton Keynes Friday 20/11 Saturday 21/11 or Sunday 22/11 according to NHS England data today.

    The total number of deaths in Milton Keynes is 130 since March, according to NHS England.

    Speaking to the House of Commons today Prime Minister Boris Johnson confirmed lockdown will end next week 2/12 and will "not be renewed" allowing non-essential shops, gyms and salons to reopen. He explained the framework for a COVID Winter Plan with a regional tiered approach.  More details on this will be announced on Thursday, together with a Christmas plan. Although tougher rules within the tiered system are likely, he added there will be more community testing sites with rapid turn around testing.
