Summer Teenage Takeover at MK Gallery

Secret Self(ie) - MK Gallery’s summer art programme for young people - is back for another year between 22 July and 30 August.

MK Gallery is inviting 14 to 18  year olds to take part in this teenage takeover and collaborate with MK Gallery Associate Artists.

Each week a different artist will work with Secret Self(ie) participants on a creative project of their choosing. This could range in anything from film to sculpture to dance to painting with the results being exhibited in the Gallery’s Event Space (opposite the main Gallery, next door to Milton Keynes  Theatre), it’s free to get involved and those who register can come to as many of the sessions as they like.

No experience or prior knowledge of the arts is necessary.

Leading the project for MK Gallery will be Chris Bradley, who is a Milton Keynes based arts professional, and one of the directors of MK based dance organisation MÓTUS. Chris said “It’s a hugely exciting opportunity for young people in MK, and we’d love to hear from you if you’d like to find out more and get involved. We’ve got some incredible artists lined up to work with us over the summer, but this is a platform for you to express yourself creatively among peers – your ideas and input will drive the project.”
