Winds bring down scaffolding in Milton Keynes

    MKFM understands that strong winds have pulled down scaffolding in the Great Linford area of Milton Keynes.

    Part of the Great Linford Local Centre area has been taped off from the public today (29/1) after strong winds pulled down scaffolding that was standing in front of some of the stores.

    The scaffolding was up in front of the Great Linford Convenience Store and Favourite Chicken & Ribs on St Leger Drive, the entrance to these stores have now been blocked due to the collapse.

    MKFM understands that scaffolders are currently on the site securing the area and making it safe.

    There are currently yellow warnings out for part of the country as strong winds spread across the North of England.

    According to the Met Office, wind speeds in Milton Keynes reached 39mph at 1pm today, winds are classified as "high" when they reach 40mph.

    Yellow warnings have not been issued for Milton Keynes.
