Milton Keynes secondary school officially opens brand new ‘Turing teaching block’

    Stantonbury School, in Milton Keynes, officially unveiled its new Turing teaching block, in a grand opening yesterday (20/05).

    It was a great day yesterday (20/05), for Milton Keynes, being crowned a city and at the same time a fantastic new beginning for Stantonbury School.

    The school held its grand opening for the brand new Turing Building Teaching Block. 

    The grand opening was filled with lots of attendees who enjoyed the sounds of piano played upon entry played by a student of Stantonbury, refreshments, inspiring speeches by Shaun Hodgkin the Operations Director at Kier Construction, Rob Warwick the Project Manager for The Department for Education, Dr Jamie Clarke the Chief Executive Officer for Tove Learning Trust and Andrew Baggaley Gold Medallist. a

    Attendees were given a tour of the new premises led by the Stantonbury School Senior Leadership Team staff and fun games of table tennis were held with Commonwealth Games Gold Medallist Andrew Baggaley.

    You could even visit the Kier 'BIM' Building Design Technology demonstration area, as shown in the below images, attendees could view an in-depth presentation of how the Turing Building was designed and how it currently stands.
    You can see the different levels of the building, the foundations and how it is held on the ground, the electrical work and much more.

    A very inspiring day for all, after the speeches were made the plaque was unveiled as well as the ribbon being cut, the Turing Building is officially open and will be filled with young and aspiring students as of September 2022. 

    All attendees gradually added their signatures and messages of best wishes to the 'signature wall' that would be presented within the building, MKFM too left their message of congratulations and best wishes to the start of this brilliant new beginning and chapter for Stantonbury School.
