Yellow Weather Warning for snow and ice issued for Milton Keynes

The Met Office has issued a Yellow Weather Warning due to expected snow and ice in Milton Keynes.

This warning will come into force covering areas of Buckinghamshire from 17:00 this evening and will last for all of Friday (8/1), ending at 23:59.

The Met Office says: "Icy stretches are likely to form perhaps leading to some disruption to travel with snow falling for some places."

People should expect some icy patches on untreated roads, pavements, and cycle paths, and longer travel journeys (both road and train services) are likely.

Currently, snow is forecast for Milton Keynes tomorrow morning, and gritters are expected to be out on the roads preparing for the below-freezing temperatures.

There have been many snow showers forecast in Milton Keynes over the past few months, but we haven't seen one snowflake. Could this be about to change?
