Infection rate continues to fall as six coronavirus cases were announced in Milton Keynes today

    The infection rate is continuing to fall in Milton Keynes, and there were just six cases announced today, according to the latest data.

    The latest update brings the total number of people tested positive in Milton Keynes since the start of the pandemic to 20,043 - of which 58 were in the past seven days.

    According to the Government website, the 7-day case rate, or infection rate, has dropped from 32.3 cases per 100,000 people yesterday to 28.6 cases per 100,000 people today.

    This is higher than the national average which stands at 25.2.

    Nationally, there was an additional 2,396 people tested positive yesterday, with 22 deaths within 28 days of a positive test.

    None of these deaths took place in Milton Keynes yesterday, meaning the city's total COVID-linked death toll still stands at 463 since the start of the pandemic.
